Bonnie's ACEO Project Update 2

I am having so much fun creating these ACEO motivational cards.

Bonnie's ACEO Project for a Cause is helping
BASE Camp Children's Cancer Foundation.

Every Friday night BASE Camp provides dinner and a movie to the kids at several hospitals.
Here are a few photos of the cards I created for some of the kids at Arnold Palmer Hospital.  Putting smiles on those sweet faces, was fun and very rewarding.

You can see some of those faces on BASE Camp Dinner & a Movie FB event page

Now I have a new way for you to get your own card with this easy
PayPal button.

Simply type in your motivational word you would like to have created in ART and then click the Buy Now button.

50% of your $3.00 Donation will go to BASE Camp Children's Cancer Foundation.

Your Motivational Word

Your word will inspire me to make it look cool in whatever medium I feel like working in at that moment.

Collect them, frame them, give them as gifts. Whatever you do with your words, each one will be numbered, scanned and recorded for future ABC motivational books, that will also benefit BASE Camp.

Here are a few more that have already been done and mailed.

In my earlier blog posts you can read on how and why I got this project started.

Bonnie's ACEO Project Update

I first want to say Thank You to everyone who has responded, donated and loved their new ACEO original artwork.

This is a project that I started in Feb. 2013, to help raise funds for
BASE CAMP Children's Cancer Foundation.

BASE CAMP is a central Florida non profit that has been serving children affected by cancer for 30 years.  Terri Jones program began in 1982, and focus on helping the entire family through this journey.

When I was introduced to this foundation, I knew it was a perfect fit for me. I was looking to pay it forward. Unfortunately Cancer has run in my family, so we have always given to the various foundations. BASE CAMP being in my own backyard. I wanted to help out the local kids and families in need.

So, what you can do ... Simple

Send a Self Addressed envelope along with $2.00 and your favorite Motivational Word.

I will create an ACEO original artwork with the word of your choice, and mail it back to you in the self addressed envelope you provided. Only one word per envelope. There is no limit on how many ACEO cards you would like.

All the Cards are numbered, and one day may become a book with just the image of the ACEO card and their number.

Here are a few that have already been done and mailed.

Bonnie’s ACEO Project for a Cause

It’s been a little over seven years since I lost my dad. Growing up; I have always tried to give to charities. One of the main ones, we gave to was Leukemia because my grandmother (my dads mom) passed from, when I was two.  She was only 52. My mom is also a survivor from that big C. For many years, the ORT Foundation was a charity my mom worked for and she still gives too. Plus my mom also crochets baby blankets for Project Linus. So I have always given, when I can to the big charities. When my dad passed at the young age of 72, we gave to Hospice. Now all those charities are great and are always in need, but I wanted to do something for a foundation in my own backyard. What I found was a foundation that not only deals with that big C, it also helps children and their families.

Lately I have been thinking of how I can do something for others with my ART.

In an art show I was set up in last week, one of the other artists had these small pieces of art she called ACEO’s tacked up on the wall.  I was curious; and after asking “what are these ACEO’s?” , she sort of explained. I was still perplexed and inspired at the same time. I was already doing small art, but they were magnets.

Then early Monday morning I was watching The Jeff Probst Show and he had this gal on who created happiness with a handwritten note, leaving them for strangers. I also thought why can’t I make people happy with an original piece of artwork.

So what if you need an explanation, you Google it, right? That’s what I did …. ACEO is Art Cards Editions and Originals. This was a movement that started ten years ago on Ebay. They are a standard size trading card (two and one-half inches by three and one-half inches) The size is the only rule in creating one, you can use any medium and any surface desired.

What has also inspired me are Motivational Words. Everyone has seen these in all sorts of ways, from posters to rocks and on and on… What I have done over the past few year’s, is to put words on wearable art, recycled art and high end art.

Now to explain my ACEO Project….

Choose a motivational word that you would want turned into art.
Mail me your word along with a
self addressed stamped envelope and $2.00.
50% of the money will go to
BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation
They are located in Winter Park FL.
The Founder is Terri Jones

I will mail you back your word in an original ACEO.
Whatever your word is I will be inspired to make it
look cool in whatever medium I feel like working in at that moment.

Here are four samples of: BASE is an acronym for.
BELIEVE
ACHIEVE
SUPPORT
EDUCATE

these are the foundations important core values.

MYSTICAL - New Series by Bonnie Sprung

Here is an update on my new series called MYSTICAL.

For the past year I've been creating Tie-Dye T-shirts in the untraditional way.
Taking black shirts and using a bleach and water spray,
along with stencils I have cut out of acetate.
Then finishing the design with dimensional textile paint.

Then out of doing these cool one of a kind wearable art shirts,
came the thought of why not take the same technique and
apply it to wall art. The only difference would be the black material used.

This series can be seen in person on
Friday, February 1, 2013 at FAVO
(Faith Arts Village Orlando) from 5-9pm.
221 E. Colonial Dr., Orlando, FL.

Here are a few images:

"Copper Dragon"

"Golden Star"

"Leap"

"Dragon Warming Water"

"Star Dance"

"Stalking Red"

This series will also be available at

Can You See CARE

"Can You See CARE" is the title of my latest painting for my
Watery Landscape - Hidden Word Series

This series was started back in 2010 and already has been showcased in two solo gallery shows. You can see images on some earlier posts.

"Can You See CARE" by Bonnie Sprung

This painting is 25" x 28" in size.

All originals are for sale. Prices available on request.

Prints on all my paintings are also available. Some are located on my ETSY shop.

To explain the series... Each painting has a hidden word. Some are easy to see, some take a bit longer. The way the trees, leaves and plants are placed create a letter, thus creating a word. Each word is a motivational type word.

I hope you are enjoying my series. If you have a word in mind that I haven't painted yet, Please let me know. Thanks.

Bonnie :)
